About the Taft substation

Taft became a city in 1910, but the neighborhoods around it, Taft Heights, South Taft and Ford City, stayed unincorporated. The Taft Substation on Gardner Field Road patrols them, along with McKittrick, Fellows, Derby Acres, Dustin Acres and Valley Acres.

It also polices the City of Maricopa under contract. The City of Taft has its own police department and jail; the substation does not handle arrests inside Taft city limits.

Substation arrests are booked at the Lerdo Justice Facility, about 32 miles away. West side cases are heard at the Lamont courthouse.
