About the Santa Clara Police Department

The Santa Clara Police Department works from the police building at 601 El Camino Real, with a Northside Substation at 3992 Rivermark Parkway for the city’s north side. The city of Santa Clara is home to Levi’s Stadium.

Santa Clara is one of the few cities with two short-term holding areas: a 2018 Civil Grand Jury report lists one in the police station and one at Levi’s Stadium for event-day arrests. Either way, adults are booked at the Main Jail in San Jose, about 2 miles east of the police building.

Santa Clara cases are heard at the Hall of Justice next to the Main Jail.

The city has about 128,000 residents by its own 2023 estimate, plus the crowds on Levi’s Stadium event days, which is why the department keeps a second holding area at the stadium.
