Santa Clara County bail schedule

About the Elmwood Men’s Facility

The Elmwood Correctional Complex sits off Interstate 880 at South Abel Street and Machado Avenue in Milpitas, about 5 miles north of the Main Jail. The men’s side is the larger part of the complex: the county describes it as housing about 2,600 medium- and minimum-security men.

Elmwood is not a booking jail. Men arrive after they have been booked at the Main Jail in San Jose. A Civil Grand Jury found that Elmwood now holds both sentenced and unsentenced men, so someone here may still be waiting for court, and bail may still be possible.

Milpitas police make arrests all around the complex, but Elmwood itself is run by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office. When a man here can be bailed out, we handle the bond with the Sheriff’s jail staff and tell you where to pick him up.
