Santa Barbara County bail schedule

About the Main Jail

The Main Jail sits on the county’s jail campus on Calle Real, between Santa Barbara and Goleta, next door to Sheriff’s Headquarters. It is the booking jail for South County and holds men and women, both people waiting for trial and people serving county sentences.

The campus once had a second building, the Medium Security Facility or "Honor Farm," with room for about 200 people. The Grand Jury reports that it has been closed and is no longer used. The Custody Records and Booking unit, which keeps booking records for the whole county, and the Sheriff’s inmate transport unit also work out of this division.

On court days, people held here are driven to a holding area in the basement of the Figueroa courthouse downtown and brought back the same day. Nobody stays overnight at the courthouse.
