About the Lompoc police jail
Lompoc is the only city in the county that still runs its own jail. It is at the police station at 107 Civic Center Plaza, next door to the Lompoc courthouse at 115 Civic Center Plaza.
The Grand Jury describes seven cells with room for up to 27 people, including separate cells for men and women and sobering cells, staffed by a jail supervisor and three sworn jail officers. Bail bonds are accepted there.
People who stay in custody are later moved to the Northern Branch Jail in Santa Maria, about 20 miles away. The courthouse next door holds criminal court on Wednesdays and Thursday mornings.
