Santa Clara County bail schedule

Posting bail for a Cupertino arrest

Cupertino, home to Apple Park, has never run its own police department. The city contracts with the Sheriff’s Office, and the West Valley Division at 1601 S. De Anza Boulevard is based in Cupertino itself. In September 2026 the city council unanimously approved a new five-year contract.

Arrests are booked at the Main Jail in San Jose, about 7 miles from the center of Cupertino. Even though deputies are county Sheriff’s staff, Cupertino cases go north to the Palo Alto Courthouse, not to San Jose.

The new contract took effect on October 1, 2026, retroactive to July 1, and raised the city’s yearly cost for Sheriff’s service by about a third. For families, nothing changes: deputies still book at the Main Jail, and we still post the bond there.
