Where do people arrested in Los Angeles go?
People arrested by LAPD are held at one of three LAPD jails: the Metropolitan Detention Center downtown, the 77th Street Regional Jail or the Valley Jail Section in Van Nuys. Bail and bail bonds are accepted at each, 24 hours a day.
Does everyone arrested in Los Angeles County need bail?
No. For many lower-level charges the court sets $0 bail before the first court date, and the person is released with a promise to appear. Bail is still required for serious and violent charges and certain others set by state law. Call us and we check the charge and the bail amount for you.
