Booking
Men arrested by the Sheriff’s Department, and many moved from station and city jails, are booked at the Inmate Reception Center in downtown Los Angeles.

The co-signer signs
A friend or family member co-signs the bail paperwork. We explain the agreement and every fee before anything is signed.

We post the bond at the IRC cashier, which accepts bail bonds 24 hours a day.
The Inmate Reception Center cashier takes bail for people held in every Los Angeles County Sheriff’s jail, including Men’s Central Jail, Twin Towers, Century Regional and the Pitchess jails in Castaic. Under the court’s Pre-Arraignment Release Protocol, many people booked on lower-level charges in Los Angeles County are released without money bail. When bail is set, we post it.

Does everyone arrested in Los Angeles County need bail?
No. For many lower-level charges the court sets $0 bail before the first court date, and the person is released with a promise to appear. Bail is still required for serious and violent charges and certain others set by state law. Call us and we check the charge and the bail amount for you.
When can bail be posted?
Bail can be posted once booking is complete or after a court appearance. It cannot be posted once the person has been sentenced.
Do I need to go to the jail?
