About the Alhambra Police Department
Alhambra has had local law enforcement since it became a city in 1903, starting with a city marshal. The marshal’s post was replaced by a police chief in 1915.
Today’s police facility on South First Street opened in 1994. It replaced the headquarters built in 1955 at Woodward Avenue and Third Street, and it holds the department’s jail.
