Jerry Sandusky In More Trouble

Jerry Sandusky was released earlier today after posting $250,000.00 in bail. The well known Penn State football coach will also be wearing an electronic ankle monitor and confined to his home arrest as part of his bail conditions. He secured his release with $200,000.00 in real property and $50,000.00 in cash as court records show. If you recall, the Penn State defensive coordinator was accused this past November of sexually abusing young men through a 15 year period. The Penn Sate scandal also brought the resignation of their famous head football coach Joe Paterno. The recent allegations state that Jerry Sandusky made contact with the alleged victims through The Second Mile charity for underprivileged children, a nonprofit organization founded by the football coach.

Spouse Defends Jerry Sandusky

Dorothy Sandusky or Dottie Sandusky as known by friends and relatives has completely supported her husband since the sex abuse charges surfaced back in November. Dottie says,  “We don’t know why these young men have made these false accusations, but we want everyone to know they are untrue,” she added. She continues to say, “No child who ever visited our home was ever forced to stay in our basement and fed there,” she said. “We would never do anything to hurt them.”  Mrs. Sandusky believes in her husband’s innocence and calls the sex abuse accusations false.

Forty Years of Jerry Sandusky

Jerry Sandusky played  defensive end for the Penn State Football team from 1963-1965. His Penn State routes dug deep into the schools football program for almost forty years. Recognized in ways usually reserved for head coaches, Jerry Sandusky continued his popularity for successfully coaching defensive squads. Acquiring the nickname “Linebacker U”,  he produced 10 first-team All-Americans at that position. He retired in 1999, without any hope of taking Joe Paterno’s place. However, he hosted many summer football camps and founded a children’s charity after his retirement. The Penn State sex abuse scandal is believed to have occurred within a 15 year span, bringing the timeline before retirement from Penn State to recent years.

Did Sandusky commit these crimes? It’s difficult to say, however you can’t help but think to yourself and say, “Why now, why didn’t this come out sooner?” There are currently 10 alleged victims, why did’t any of them come out and allege these crimes earlier? The alleged victims are surrounded by family and friends, but there was no word of such allegations for over a decade. Are these people motivated by money, where as the recent alleged victim’s attorney, Chuck Schmidt, prepares to file lawsuits against Penn State, The Second Mile, and Jerry Sandusky.
