California counties update their felony and misdemeanor California bail schedules about mid-year every year. This information has been updated to our website. for the public’s use. The California bail schedules may be viewed or printed from your desktop or mobile device at the above referenced link. However, they require adobe reader for viewing and printing purposes. In addition, the State of California required bail bond forms are also available in the resource section of the website.
We currently only provide California bail schedules for the following counties; Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura. The text version of the California bail schedules will include all California counties and will be mailed out, free of charge, to our list of criminal defense attorneys and their respective law practices.
California Bail Schedules Use
The county bail schedules purpose is to set bail for the detained individual. The Detention Release Officer at the jail and the criminal court system use the bail schedule to determine the amount of bail for the arrestee based on the alleged criminal charges. Once the defendant has been arraigned or bail set, they will be able to make bail. If the bail amount is too high to make cash bail, the friends or family of the defendant may use the services of a California bail bond company to assist in the release of the defendant. The bail bond company will charge you a percentage of the bail amount. The standard premium amount in California is 10% of the total bail amount. You may also be required to secure the bail bond, depending on the severity of the alleged crime and amount of bail.

The amount of bail varies and is not only determined by the criminal charges against someone, but also by the county where the alleged offense was committed. For example, the Los Angeles Superior Courts may have a totally different bail schedule than Orange County. So, please contact our office or the county superior court where the defendant is being held for accurate bail information.
